GO FOR GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT IN THE RENEWABLE ENERGY SECTOR: ACORE
By Pamela Peeters

The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) is an organization dedicated to advancing renewable energy in the United States and global economies through education, conferences, research, and communications. ACORE was founded in 2001 to bring together leading proponents and innovators in all facets of the renewable energy sector for the purpose of moving renewable energy into the mainstream of America’s economy. Its membership has grown to over 600 companies, including renewable energy industry associations, utilities, end users, professional service firms, financial institutions, educational institutions, nonprofit groups, and government agencies.

ACORE holds five major annual conferences attended by hundreds of industry leaders, including three finance forums – REFF-Wall Street, REFF-West, and REFF-LAC – as well as a policy conference, Phase II, and RETECH, a technology conference and trade show. ACORE’s committees and working groups meet regularly on industry issues. It also publishes a compendium on best practices, with concrete examples of how U.S. state and local governments are successfully promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy. It is designed to share successful program and policy models that can be replicated easily around the country, as well as adapted for implementation in emerging markets.
